Ishiuchi Maruyama Ski Area

The tradition of skiing continues to thrive here at one of Japan’s leading ski areas that has been operating since 1949. 

Ishiuchi Maruyama is easily accessible by Shinkansen bullet train in around 80 minutes from Tokyo, with a shuttle bus departing from the nearest station and arriving in 10 minutes. 

It features some of Japan’s best natural snow and visitors can enjoy a variety of wide, open slopes.   

The views from the resort are spectacular, particularly Uonuma Plain and the three great mountains of Echigo.

Ishiuchi Maruyama features more than 20 shops serving food and drink inside and outside skiing area as part of a unique layout offering an experience that can’t be found anywhere else. Ishiuchi Maruyama has continued to be loved by people for many, many years.

Have fun in the snow

Riding on the world’s most advanced combi-lift “Sunrise Express” for about 7 mins to the middle area of the snow resort.
There are gentle slopes that anyone will love as well as a view of Uonuma Plain down below.
Besides skiing and snowboarding, “The Veranda Ishiuchi” is located next door so that the whole family, kids and all, can have fun in the snow.
Relax in the Resort Center when you feel like taking a break.

One of Kanto’s largest well-established ski areas

The top-class ski resort sitting above the Kan-Etsu Expressway boasts a total ski area of 236ha,
13 lifts, a height difference of 664, and a longest run of 4,000m.
The area continues to be loved by skiers and snowboarders alike, from beginners to experts,
thanks to the beautiful natural snow brought in by the seasonal winds from the Sea of
Japan and its 23 diverse courses that make use of extensive natural terrain.
